ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

With different organizations, we are working on the Artist in Residence program. Possibly in March 2012 the first contracts are completed - and artists from countries that do not have the financial opportunities as well as rich countries can stay  free of charge for three months in the KUNSTGUT  and live in close proximity.

The participants of the residence program will work on a firm studio place in the large, light-through-flooded studio. The residence time is limited to maximum three months.The artists are welcome to participate in any of the seminars or lectures that take place in the KUNSTGUT.

The artists will get a chance for a solo exhibition at the gallery Rutil at the end of a three months residence time. For installations or performative works are also the KUNSTGUT rooms available. Via the help of the KUNSGUT association there is also the possibility to apply for financial support for catalogs, etc. For the artists in residence it is also possible to offer workshops for the KUNSTGUT students. These workshops will be paid.

Condition is the special expertise of the artist on a specific subject area, which extends the curriculum of the KUNSTGUT.

Prerequisite is a graduation from university or art school or extensive experience in the field of art. We would like the applicants to send samples of their work (photos, etc.)

Studio Place

Already now, we offer an affordable studio place for international artists who come to Berlin on their own initiative and work here also.

The fee is 200,-€/month
